Consistency

 
When players want to improve they must remain consistent with their ambition of improvement. Consistency is the factor that allows people to apply their effort repeatably in the same direction. In order to become consistent, a player must understand where they are and where they need to go. This diary will help players make meaningful observations of where they are and what improvement might look like. 

Reflection

 Reflection is a critical component for anybody who wants to become an effective learner. Being an effective reflector allows for players to develop an effectiveness in understanding what has happened and what the consequence of the action is. It allows learners to question in a positive way what has happened and how to learn from it. Once the action has been completed, effective reflectors are able to decide if the response given is adequate or if the response needs to be adapted to support their learning.  

Resilience

 Resilience is a key component for any player or person who want to be succesful. Resilience is the ability withstand and overcome difficult moments that might occur. Within the difficult and competitive world of Football, these moments can occur regularly. It is important that young footballers experience difficult moments in order to support their development. Removing difficult moments from young people can actually make them less resilient and more vulnerable and exposed to difficult moments. This diary can help develop resilience by offering a location and a platform to record these difficult moments and to reflect on. The individual can then read the journal back and understand the strength they have shown to be where they are.  

Goal Setting

 Goal setting is another important factor for players who are looking to improve. Goal setting allows players to gain a sense of direction, provides greater focus to their work and can increase the productivity players have because of the increased motivation and attachment to the goals they have. Goal setting can really play an important factor in development in all four corners of performance. This book specifically supports players goal setting and allows individuals to see where they are and the journey they need to experience to improve.  

Self-Confidence

This journal can provide players with increased self-confidence because of the reinforcement of goal setting and the accountability athletes feel to their development. Confidence isn't just developed by playing, it can be developed through effective and essential planning.  It is easy for negative thoughts to sneak in to a players head and have a negative influence on their performance and enjoyment of the game. This journal can help players reduce anxiety and find methods to deal with difficult moments. By putting emotions on paper, players are able to find clearer and more straight forward solutions to deal with anxiety and emotion.

Communication and Clarity are two key components that help players and coaches alike. Communication helps players make others aware of how they feel and what they need. Effective communication also allows players to speak to each other and share information effectively that aids relationships and encourages confidence within teams and players. Communication can be improved with this journal because of the clarity it can give players. By understanding who you are and what you are good at, it allow for clarity within. This then allows for players to receive and share information in a more effective way.
