3V1 Rondo Activities
Below we've put together a small PDF that includes some simple 3V1 practices that can help coaches, help their players during the arrival time for a session. These practices look to work off the principle of finding the spare player, and are simple but effective 3V1 practices.
These practices can be handed to the players, and used to practice the simple principle of finding the +1 whilst a coach setups the main session, to occupy the earlier arrivers or whilst the group waits for everyone to arrive. But either way, it will challenge players in all elements of performance, and start to build some of the fundamental building blocks to successfully playing out from the back.
Each Rondo try to develop something ever so slightly different in a tactical concept, without changing the fundamental principle of finding the +1. Each session will look to create the above mentioned 3v1 moment and then challenge it to exploit the space around the opponent in a different way. Some will look to exploit beyond the opponent, some will look to exploit the space besides the opponent.
Once this was happened, we also have different challenges as to how we use the space once we have it. Are we looking to use the space just to stay on the ball. Are we using the space to progress the ball forward. Or are we using the space in order to create an attacking opportunity?
